BET vs. BET+ Activation: How to Set Up Both Streaming Services

You need to know the difference between BET and BET+ before you start. BET requires a TV provider (cable or satellite) to watch shows. BET+ operates as a standalone paid subscription service. You do not need cable for BET+.

Activate the Standard BET App (Cable Required)

You use the BET app to watch content included with your cable plan. Follow these steps to activate it using your TV provider credentials.

  1. Download the BET app on your Roku, Fire TV, or Apple TV.

  2. Open the app and select "Sign In" or "Activate."

  3. Copy the activation code you see on your TV screen.

  4. Visit bet.com/activate on your phone or computer.

  5. Enter the activation code in the box provided.

  6. Select your TV provider from the list (e.g., Xfinity, Spectrum, DirecTV).

  7. Log in with your provider's username and password.

  8. Your TV screen refreshes automatically once you sign in.

Activate the BET+ App (Subscription Required)

You use the BET+ app for exclusive movies and ad-free TV shows. You must pay for a BET+ subscription separately.

  1. Download the BET+ app from your device's app store.

  2. Open the app and select "Start Your Free Trial" or "Sign In."

  3. Create a BET+ account if you do not have one.

  4. Enter your payment information if you are signing up.

  5. Enter your email and password if you already have an account.

  6. Start watching immediately.

Note: Some devices ask you to visit bet.plus/activate if you sign in with an existing account. Follow the on-screen instructions exactly as they appear.

Troubleshoot Activation Issues

You might face problems during setup. Try these fixes if the activation code fails or the app crashes.

  • Check your internet connection. Your device needs a strong signal to verify the code.

  • Verify your subscription. Make sure your cable package includes the BET channel.

  • Restart the app. Close the BET app completely and open it again to generate a new code.

Clear your browser cache. Delete cookies on your phone or computer browser before you visit bet.com/activate again.

  • Update your device. Install the latest software update for your Roku or Fire TV.

Contact BET support if these steps do not fix the problem. You typically resolve most issues by restarting the process with a fresh code.
